In my past experiences with public speaking I have usually done very well. However, in the same token my speeches have almost always been in a group of people that I have known from seven to thirteen years, which I assume can help a lot with nerves. Which is why I will be focusing on the one instance in which I did not have the luxury of the audience being a group of people that I have had a history with. It was my first speech given in a large auditorium, it was a my very first business presentation. I was super nervous. I felt as though the audience could smell every scent of fear that was on my body. However, as I began to speak my movements became more natural, my voice more steady, and my passion more obvious. Even still I could not come to terms with the idea that everyone was watching me. Did I mention that the speech being mentioned was complete improv?
My strength is most apparent when I am the most comfortable. For reasons unknown to even myself I have difficulty planning my speeches. Every time that I have to write an outline I find myself focusing so hard on the outline that I used that I almost always forget a section because I try to focus far too much. I've noticed that as long as I am an "expert" in the information being given, it's almost always more natural for my speech. Also I have come to terms with the fact that I actually have to plan some of my speeches and I have been looking for ways to overcome it and so far the only thing that I have been able to come up with is to practice a little more and to listen to my speeches.

What is... A Thesis.
All men are created equal... But what about women? Women have always been inferior to men in nearly all aspects, however the value that we place has gone up and down so much that I'm surprised that it has not come to have a position in the stock market. In this essay I will be outlining the way that the value of women has always been in direct correlation to her position of power within the household. You will see the way that women have gone from being almost equal, to barely visible, all the way to the way that they have slowly started to take back this idea of equality within the patriarchy society of sweet America.
In essence my essay will highlight the way that women and men have divided the importance of work and its relation to the way that women are held in society. I have learned a vast majority of this information in both my sociology and African American classes. The reason that I am taking this approach is because it has a huge effect on the way that we look at family and place values on the idea of family. It also has a very big effect on the way that the government goes on to help families that are struggling. It is also very important to note that the information that would be being analyzed comes from the majority of the American population which means the focus of my paper would encapsulate the essence

Paradigm Shifts
The Role of Women:
The role of women has gone through a paradigm shift. In early America women were seen as equals to men, at least in the rural areas where the entire family had to put work in to have a successful farm. However, as America came to be more industrialized the woman's voice began to lose some of its power. It was in this moment that we were able to see the difference and shift in power. It was during this era that woman became the "house wife" and her duties were to solely take care of the children and maintain household chores. All the while the father brought the money in and were put as the head of the house. This is essentially where the idea of fathers being the head of the household emerged. However, if you look at women today you can see them working in the same positions as men and there are a lot of movements going on to help improve the power of women. Essentially our history has slowly come back in a loop.
Let there be NUDITY:
Okay, so I am sure that there has always been nudist around, which is why I am not really talking about that specific group of people. However, the fashion trends dating in the 1920's up until now shows a huge paradigm shift in the way that we carry ourselves. Ever year the items of clothing that are being sold are becoming skimpier and skimpier as a result we live to be sexy. Image, something that has always been of great value, has somehow changed from modest to sex symbol and as a result the way by which we live life has changed as well. It also has a great impact on the way that we, not only value ourselves, but each other.

A Thoughtful Post
In chapter three we went on to discuss what
"rhetoric" actually was, and while we came up with multiple ways to
define rhetoric. The way that I was most able to identify with this art was
when I compared it to trials, mock trial, civic cases, and criminal law. They
all connect to rhetoric and being able to accurately speak in the right moment,
about the right the thing, and to the right people. Due to the fact that I am
able to connect rhetoric with something that I am passionate with it makes it
so much more clear to me.
Say we were in a courthouse and a man is being sentenced to death.
His entire life revolves around his lawyer's use of rhetoric. However, his
lawyer is in an art competition against the opposing lawyer, the competition
being who can speak the best to the jury. Hit an emotional appeal here; through
a little bit of logic there, and most importantly tell them at the right
moment. Feel the atmosphere of the audience and engage.
Both lawyers are put
into a position in which they have to listen to the other and hear what the
other is saying so as to respond accurately to the other. They have to listen
to learn and respond by doing such. Even though they already have notes and key
points to speak on they must wait on the most opportune moment to display their
information.
Not only do they have
to wait to display their information, but they also must go on to question
anything that is not clear. That's
what rhetoric is, learning how to listen and display information in the
appropriate manner. It is to learn from the person opposing you, because while
rhetoric may not be as serious as a man’s life resting on your shoulders. It most certainly teaches you about
understanding others and knowing when to speak and using your voice as a tool.

Lost Voices:
Today
in America’s society there is a large whir of issues surrounding us, and it is
social media that is drowning it out. However, in the same token there are
people that are using social media as a means of expertise to help expose some
the issues that we have going on.
As young children we are taught that if we do not like something we are to cover it up; so why is it that people are so baffled that this is an issue happening within our government. One may not know that there are jobs within American government set specifically to spread lies so as to cover up the latest scandal. These scandals are cries for help, and it is mainstream media that makes a way to cover for it but it is our duty to make it come to an end.
One must look back at the Holocaust when looking at these scenarios. Had the world listened to the cries of the people that the Nazi’s were out to hurt; then the matter never would’ve been able to expand so much. So explain, why is it that when there is an issue within America that everyone is so ready to place a muffler on the screams of those that cry for help.
If one looks at America like a brand new Harley, one would understand the issue. When you ride on your motorcycle, you become one with your bike. When she is humming and purring you can feel that there should be a smooth ride. However, if she starts to choke and sputter all over the place; than you can expect to find yourself on a bumpy ride and possibly even crash. The muffler that America has been currently using on twitter and instagram is #AllLivesMatter which is 100% true. Yet the issue with this cry, is that it is deterring you from the original issue at hand. #BlackLivesMatter was a call from the African American’s to all of America to draw attention to the issue of the lives of African Americans being disregarded for. #AllLivesMatter just minimized the effect of the issue at hand.
I choose the topic of lost voices because it is something that I can personally relate to. There’s a large chance that soon enough that #SandraBland could easily be turned to #JusticeForJamirah. I have a large voice I plan to use. There is no more room for mufflers on America’s Harley. It is up to us to pay attention to our ride and give her a tune up when things go wrong. Thus the reason why I will make my blog about the way media silences the cries of the people, although they claim to be helping us. The people.
